I suppose at some point I may retroactively give out a Jan and Feb 08, but March is pretty much uncontested. Consolers Of The Lonely by The Raconteurs is the most pleasant surprise of 2008 so far. Announced a week before its release it truly came out of left field, I and couldn’t be happier for that. Here are the tracks to check out and worthy of the Rock Band treatment.

After a strong first day of 15-1, Friday has killed my bracket after going 9-7 on the day. On the bright side one of those 7 was Villanova, who survived the first round and are lucky enough to face a 13 seeded Siena. I will take this good news with the bad, and miss a some of the action today due to a nail in my tire.
The 2008 NCAA Tournament is underway. Old standbys like Gus Johnson, first round scares, and one thousand John Cougar Mellencamp Chevy commercials have returned. There is rarely a break over these four days of first and second round action, but I am typing this during the middle of a urkin. Georgia is really hanging with Xavier right now, this could be the first buzzer beater upset or just another first round scare.
While Hang ‘em High was my personal favorite back in the days of Halo, Sidewinder was the home of some of the most intense team matches I’ve ever experienced in any video game. Capture the flag matches that lasted several hours, clutch sniper shots from the second floor, sneaking through the tunnels to for a surprise attack; Avalanche is a welcome addition in the latest map pack in my opinion. I will be buying the Legendary map pack on April 15th for sure.
I’m really enjoying Bully so far, Lost Odyssey is out of my life, and Condemned 2 is lost in the mail. Hopefully Rainbow Six Vegas 2 will show up this weekend.
After about a month of not getting anything from Gamefly, they have decided to ship three games in the span of three days. Lost Odyssey is a snooze so far, so I can’t wait to get my hands on Condemned 2 and Bully for some actual action and gameplay. Meanwhile I am still working on my Smash Bros. review, I want to make it my first true game review for the Scissors 61 site, so we’ll see how that turns out.
